I live in Copalis Beach and I have read all of the signs this man has put up over the years. I for one am really disgusted with the vulgar language he uses. I believe in the freedom of speech, however he needs to use the appropriate words, not slang, that is not only offensive but makes this already “junky” looking town even more repulsive. As one group already said with a sign by his place a couple of years ago,” We found the village idiot !” I for one agree. He needs to stop with the slang it’s rude and really embarrassing to say the least.
Jack from Seattle is entitled to his opinion, as everyone is. This does not mean that we have to agree with it, because like he … we have ours. I think, from experience, that the NCN is welcomed in Seabrook just as much as it is in its hometown of Ocean Shores.
Wow, I just snapped a picture of that sign on Monday, erie.
interesting, it’s nice that the guy would replace the more offensive stuff, i hope that the replacement message isn’t worse, that’s the only potential problem.
Jack: I’m not saying I agree with everything you’re saying (for one thing, they sell the NCN at Seabrook), but I agree our man is nothing if not a free thinker, and will pass on your appreciation to him in person. (this probably won’t surprise you: he doesn’t have a computer)
met this man last october, and was impressed by him as a free thinker, and loved his sign that says ,, save the whales, eat the japenese . for people that dont like his signs , tourists, put it where the sun dont shine. we need people like him that stand up to authority. besides there’s too many tourists, snobs, on their way to seabrook. just remember scanlon these new seabrook people wont read you, and will fire you, they only read the wallstreet journal, not your paper or the daily. i hope you let this man make a dent. and at least tell him i apperciate him. i will.
