Sandi Beasley of Public Works has a new computer and printer that will make her job easier, and save Public Works time. The first step she said will be to learn the word processing functions. This will help with the public service handouts they offer and especially with the task of contract writing.
The Division of Aquatic Lands Department of Natural Recourses has filed an application for a Substantial Development permit to continue ocean disposal of dredge spoils at sites commonly known as Pt Chehalis and and South Jetty sites.
The end of Feb is the end of the North Coast native’s time for themselves. Towards March thoughts begin to turn toward the upcoming tourist season.

Senator Slade Gorton has asked the Army Corps of Engineers to conduct a feasibility study for beach erosion and a flood control project in Ocean Shores.
Michael Ludwig Owens of Ocean Shores received a 2 month jail sentence for escaping from the Aberdeen jail in Jan, where he was serving time for possession of drug
paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license.
The first sewer system proposal for Ocean Shores in Dec of 1969 was a real bargain compared to the current plan. For $12000 the complete sewer system construction plan would have provided coverage to the City, Oyehut, and Illahee until the year 1998.

The North Beach middle school 8th grade Knowledge Bowl Team opened its season with a solid 2nd place in a meet at Gray’s Harbor College on Feb 25.
The Ocean Shores Firefighters Association and the Ocean Shores Elks annual Easter Egg hunt will be held on Easter Day April 1st at the Ocean Shores Elementary School.
The Washington Fish and Wildlife Commission adopted new sports fishing rules for the 2004-05 season that include a two year moratorium on retaining any wild steelhead caught in state waters.
