You do have a valid point. Considering the budget crisis that the city has, what has the fire department done besides making threats to their services? By looking at what they had done when only one of their department staff was threatened, it makes me wonder what their real intentions are. They seem to have the, “too bad for everyone else” syndrome, but aren’t willing to help the overall problem. The fire department isn’t the mose important part of the cities employees by far, I hope that they rememner that and start becoming a little more realistic in what their part of the problem that the city now faces.
So if that adds up, that isn’t many calls per 24-hours. And less were actual emergency calls. And what were the emergency fire responses, I don’t recall reading about any major fire incidents during that time. And you were complaining that if you lost even one person in your department that response time could increase dramatically? Maybe comparing that to the police department would be nice, I’m sure they have a lot more calls with less people, with many more calls running simultaneously. And they lost a position making it more difficult for them….
